FAQ's: Quest For The Best

What is this?

Quest for the Best is an employee engagement effort focused on two things: team building and process Improvement. We'll begin by engaging you, our approximately 290 employees, organized into groups of ten, and ask you three questions:

  • What should we STOP doing?
  • What should we KEEP doing?
  • What should we START doing?

Then, we will identify common themes, and each employee will prioritize their most important issues.

The intended result is that we identify the major issues/concerns that should be addressed. We will develop a spreadsheet so we can track and communicate our progress in implementing those changes.

Who’s involved?

All CPFM employees. We hired facilitators from the Institute for Policy Research and Engagement (IPRE) to help keep us moving at a brisk pace.

When will this take place?

We will start scheduling these meetings in mid-July and they will run through early August. The meetings will take place at 7AM and 4PM, which we did in order to accommodate as many shifts as possible. We were especially conscious of those who work swing and graveyard, who often have to come in when they are off-shift.

Where will this take place?

The Design & Construction Conference Room at 1295 Franklin, Bldg. 130, 2nd floor.

How does this benefit me?

Simply put – you have to be in it, to win it. We're trying to make CPFM the best it can be for all of us. If you want something to change, you have to participate in the effort to make it so.

Why will this work?

There have been several positive changes in the last three years with this new administration. This effort will help contribute to that trajectory.

Can I speak freely without concern?

Yes! We encourage you to contribute honestly in order for us to be the best we can be.

Logistics

Do I have to be there?

Yes. While you are not required to speak, you must come to the meetings to hear about how it works and listen to your co-workers.

Will I be paid for my time?

Yes. Everyone will be paid for attending these meetings.

What if I can’t make it?

We will be setting up meetings that try to accommodate everyone’s schedules.  If there is a meeting you cannot make, there will be another in which you can participate.
