The university recognizes the necessity of campus lighting and exterior building lighting to address adequately the personal safety requirements of students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors without significantly damaging its nighttime aesthetic qualities, as well as to be consistent with its commitment to energy conservation.
UO Campus Safety at Night Map
Interactive campus map provides information on outdoor lighting and call boxes and allows users to drop pins to identify areas of concern or issues with outdoor lighting safety.
UO Outdoor Sign Plan
The UO Outdoor Sign Plan, includes design details and information for:
Campus standard sign designs: Building identification, traffic and parking signs, campus map stations, trespassing signs, and landscape information.
All other outdoor signs:
- Review criteria for non-standard signs
- Exceptions: temporary, existing, construction site, and outdoor sport facility signs
The Campus Tree Plan shares the intent behind the "Campus Tree' pattern.
