Pedal Project

As the US approaches a bicycle renaissance, cities like New York, San Francisco, and Washington DC are sprinting to catch up with places like Eugene in terms of bike infrastructure. On this trip, bike mechanics will introduce Pedal Project students to leaders who drive 2-wheeled change. The journey begins at the UO Bike Program shop, where students will team up to assemble bicycles for a fleet of recycled loaners. They’ll visit local bike infrastructuralists, independent shops, and manufacturers in the Willamette Valley, then finish up with a self-propelled camping trip. On the way, students will learn valuable maintenance skills, fill their lungs with fresh air, make s’mores, and meet movers, shakers, and makers leading the way to self-propelled enlightenment! Pedal
